AMC Theatres and Regal are screening “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” and “Steel Magnolias” following Parton’s death on Aug. 25 at age 80. The screenings are part of a growing number of tributes honoring the Tennessee icon’s music, film career and philanthropy.
At AMC Thoroughbred 20 in Franklin, both movies are being offered as part of AMC’s Fan Faves programming. “Steel Magnolias” screened earlier in the day on Friday and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” screens at 4 p.m. The theater is located at 633 Frazier Drive in Franklin.
AMC has said the two films are returning to approximately 200 theaters nationwide, with screenings continuing through Sept. 2 at participating locations.

“The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” will screen Saturday, Aug. 29, followed by “Steel Magnolias” on Sunday, Aug. 30. Tickets are $9.25, and 100% of proceeds from the Tennessee screenings will benefit the literacy program Parton founded.
