The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will install an all-way stop on State Route 76 in Robertson County. Click for More News
Beginning Monday, November 2, at 8:00 a.m., crews will install stop signs at the intersection of State Route 76 at New Hall Road and Cross Plains Road to create an all-way stop. Advance warning signs, road markings, and rumble strips will also be installed for increased safety. All work is anticipated to be complete in one day.
Following inquiries from Robertson County residents and elected officials, TDOT conducted a traffic study and determined that installing an all-way stop at this intersection would improve traffic flow and enhance safety. The new stop will require vehicles approaching from all directions to stop before proceeding, a traffic-control measure that can help reduce collisions at low-volume intersections.
All work is weather-dependent. As always, drivers are reminded to allow additional time, slow down, and move over when traveling through a work zone. The Move Over Law was passed in 2006. The penalty for violating the law in Tennessee includes the possibility of up to 30 days in jail and a maximum fine of $500.
