Larry Gale Tate, age 86 of Springfield went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 30, 2022 at his home.
He was born May 28, 1935 in Union City, OK to Floyd Arthur and Dolly Lee Jester Tate.
He retired after 37 years of service to the Teamster (United) as a heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Tate was known to his friends and family as “a prayer warrior” and a devoted Christian. He was a member of Christ Worship Center. He enjoyed football and NASCAR, especially the LA Rams and Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed mowing his grass with his zero turn mower and he loved eating fried okra.
He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Tate, Springfield, TN; son, Darren (Shelly) Tate, White House, TN; daughters, Carla (Daniel) Geare, Goodlettsville, TN, Carrie Tate, Santa Rosa, CA, Lisa (Michael) Savas, Cross Plains, TN, Joey (Russ) Gravel, Cedar Hill, TN and Kimberly King, Utah; 8 grandchildren, Ryan, Trevor, Brittany, Tyler, Savannah, Noah, Karlie, and Sarah; 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, February 7, 2022 at 12pm at Christ Worship Center 2732 Highway 31W White House, TN 37188, with Pastor Steve Malone officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with Ryan Abney, Trevor Abney, Russ Gravel, Joe Quilty, Casey Allen, and Noah Quilty serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 10 am until 12 pm at the church.
