Dorothy Ann Carney, age 89, of Greenbrier, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at her home.
Mrs. Carney was born June 17, 1935, in Nashville, to the late Henry Clay Brown, and the late Nannie Marie Swan Brown.
She worked in the accounting department of the Haywood Company for many years, and was a member of Green Ridge Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Tino” Carney; daughter, Beverly Ray; sisters, Thelma Haggard, and Barbara June Brown; and brothers, Tommy Brown, Ronnie Brown, Roy Brown, Doug Brown, James Brown, Harold Clay Brown, and Bobby Brown.
She is survived by sons, Harry (Cheryl) Carney, and Gary (Sondra) Carney; daughters, Debbie (Fred) Jones, and Cindy (John) Sheehan; son-in-law, Emmett Ray; 22 grandchildren and 77 great and great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charlie (Suzzanne) Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday, November 26th, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro Jack Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Mrs. Carney’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11 am until time of the service at 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
