Betty Jean “Tooter” Mayo, age 89 of Springfield, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 20th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Bro. Randy Harman officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 11 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
She was born in Greenbrier, TN on October 26, 1931 to the late Russell and Helen Morris Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Mayo; sons, Terry Mayo, Ricky Mayo; sister, Joan Baldwin, and brother, Son Williams.
She served as a Cafeteria worker for the Robertson County School System and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family and her church very much. She enjoyed the outdoors and flowers.
She is survived by son, Gary (Dianne) Mayo; daughters, Kathy (Mike) Henley, Kay (Mitchell) Mayo-Nance; sister, Mary Jane West; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Facemasks are recommended.
