Joann “Jody” Marshall Bean, 91, of Springfield, departed this life on Sunday August 15, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.
A private family graveside service will be conducted on Friday, August 20th in the Green Acres Memory Gardens in Crossville with Reverend Jerry Wallace officiating. Paul Hart, Andrew Bixby, Tommy Bean, and Orville Hale will serve as pallbearers. The family will hold a Memorial Service at a future date.
Mrs. Bean was born January 22, 1930, in Toledo, OH to the late George and Sara Samuel Marshall. She was a retired school teacher from the Cumberland County Board of Education. Mrs. Bean was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church, where she served as a Stephen Minister. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, and especially loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Bethany Bean, by her sister: Sharon “Sherry” Brown, by her nephew: Warren Brown, and by the father of her children: Judge James A. Bean.
Mrs. Bean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Beverly and Paul Hart of Springfield, by her granddaughter: Sarah Hart Bixby and husband Andrew of Goodlettsville, and by her great-grandchildren: Luca and Blakeleigh Bixby.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen Ministry at Springfield First United Methodist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
