Janie M. “Bea” Welch, age 90, of Greenbrier and formally of Nashville, passed away on September 2, 2021 at her home.

She was born on June 7, 1931 to the late Sam and Katherine Stephens in Nashville. Bea married the love of her life, Sam Welch, and was blessed with two children. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most days, you could find Bea sitting on the porch swing enjoying watching the birds.

Bea was a devout Christian and she and her husband, Sam, were members for over 50 years at Centenary United Methodist Church in Nashville. For years, Bea and her husband volunteered their time as youth leaders and helping any way they could with the church. When they moved to be closer to their children, Bea and Sam began attending Greenbrier United Methodist Church where Bea enjoyed meeting with the “Joy” seniors on Tuesdays and attending other church functions.

In addition to her parents, Bea is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Welch; sisters, Frances Stephens and Mary Ann Fisk; and nephew, Brad Fisk.

She is survived by her son, Ron (Nancy) Welch; daughter, Kathy (David) Randolph; grandchildren, Ben (Brittany) Randolph, Katie (Craig) Wagoner, Aaron Welch, Pam (Steve) Huffine, Bobby (Debbie) Cleveland, and Jon Cleveland; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville with Dr. Jason Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 am – 12 pm at Springfield Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.SpringfieldFH.com.
