A 16-year-old boy drowned in a pond in White House on Monday afternoon, WKRN reports.

Officials responded to the incident on New Hall Road around 4:45 p.m.

Robertson County EMS says the boy was mowing his grandfather’s property when the mower slid into the pond, trapping him underwater. His family found him after an unknown amount of time. Despite efforts to rescue and resuscitate him, he did not survive.

Brent Dyer, Robertson County EMS Director, mentioned that the incident involved a well-known family in the community. However, the boy’s identity has not been released at this time.

This was one of three drowning incidents in Robertson County within 48 hours. Over the weekend, a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old fell into swimming pools but were rescued by family members and are expected to recover.
