The City of Springfield wants to let residents know about an important update to its sirens.
Springfield recently installed new software for the storm sirens. Please see below for what the different sirens mean:
🌪 Tornado warning- wail sound with messages
⚠ Thunderstorm warning- alert tone only with no message
⚡ Lightning- airhorn sounds
There will no longer be the need for monthly audible tests. Silent tests will now be conducted weekly.
