The Springfield Board of Mayor & Aldermen recently adopted the annual budget (and tax rate) for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, at the regularly called meeting on June 20th, 2023.
Highlights include:
- No property tax increase.
- No wastewater fee increase.
- $2.00 increase to sanitation rates.
- Capital improvement projects include constructing a new wastewater treatment plant, a third fire station, and completing the Batson Parkway extension.
- The addition of four new full-time positions including two firefighters, a recreation programmer, and an inventory specialist.The purchase of a fire truck, four police vehicles, a dump truck, and a fleet of golf carts.
