Ronald Lee Covington, 74, of Orlinda, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Mr. Covington was born August 7, 1947, in Orlinda, to the late Arleigh and Christine Harris Covington.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retired U.S. Army/National Guard Military Pilot. Mr. Covington loved playing pool, playing cards, working in his shop, and he loved canning and freezing the vegetables that he grew in his garden each year. His passion was flying helicopters and serving his country.
Mr. Covington is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law: Matthew Covington of Orlinda, Brandon and Maeghan Covington of Orlinda, and Troy Covington of Missouri, by his daughter: Christina Covington of Orlinda, by his fiancé: Lyn Drake of Orlinda, and by his 6 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Saturday, May 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Orlinda with Pastor Mark Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends at the Celebration of Life service.
