Walter Miles Curtis, 76, of the Milldale community in Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 12th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor John Jarred officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Chapel Cemetery with Nick Traughber, Scott Burnette, Kyle Pitt, and Travis Pitt serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Miles was born April 17, 1945, in Springfield to the late Walter and Lillie Raymer Curtis. He was a retired tanker truck driver with Hollingsworth Oil Company and was of the Baptist faith. Miles loved fishing, raising a garden, spending time with his family, and watching TV, especially wrestling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Wayne Curtis.
Miles is survived by his wife of 49 years: Marilyn Traughber Curtis, by his daughters: Rhonda (Scott) Burnette of Cedar Hill, Cindy Rye of White House, by his son: Steven Miles Curtis of Orlinda, by his brothers: Billy Glenn Curtis of Springfield, James (Wanda) Curtis of Schochoh, KY, and by his 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
