Jerry Donald Morgan Sr.

Jerry Donald Morgan, Sr., 73, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021, at his home.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenbrier Cemetery with Chaplain Brett Stewart officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Donald Morgan, Jr., Thomas Dolash, James Dolash, Christopher Lorincz, Jonathan Lorincz, and Kyle Smythe. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, Gary Puckett, David Morgan, and Calister Brawner. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Saturday prior to the graveside service.

Mr. Morgan was born August 26, 1948, in Greenbrier to the late Joe and Margaret Warren Morgan, Sr. He was a graduate of Greenbrier High School Class of 1966, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served during Vietnam. Mr. Morgan was called into the ministry in 1972. He graduated from Gulf Coast Baptist Institute in Theodore, AL, and then pastored various churches on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and spoke in many churches around Springfield throughout his years of ministry. He was retired from the construction industry, and he attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Springfield. Mr. Morgan was a softball, baseball, and soccer coach for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on cars, woodworking, and camping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Beverly Jones and Deborah Norris, and by his granddaughter: Erica Smythe. Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Martin Morgan of Springfield, by his sons: Jim (Rosella) Smythe of Greenbrier, Jerry Donald (Michelle Collins) Morgan, Jr., of Springfield, by his daughters: Candace (Bryan) Dolash of Springfield, Sarah (Dustin) Clouser of Portland, by his brothers: Joe Morgan, Jr., of Ashland City, Roger Morgan of Portland, by his sister: Jeanette Hogan of Whites Creek, and by his 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
