Lovie Virginia Johnson, the daughter of the late Curtis and Elizabeth Suggs Johnson, was born on July 24, 1948, in Adams, TN. She was a sister of fourteen brothers and sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Curtis Johnson, Jr., Sam Johnson, Moses Johnson, James Earl Johnson, Charles Johnson, Peggy Johnson, Polly Leavell and Mattie Henderson.

On Thursday, October 6, 2022, Lovie departed this life for her Heavenly home prepared for her. She accepted Christ at an early age. She was a devoted member of Keysburg Baptist Church in Keysburg, KY where she served as a choir member and on the kitchen committee staff. She later united and attended Bell’s Chapel Baptist Church in Adams, KY.

Lovie received her formal education in the Robertson County school system. She was a 1967 graduate of Bransford High School, Springfield, TN. She earned an Associates Degree in business from Branell Business College, Nashville, TN.

Lovie was employed as a cook, cashier and waitress for the Chatter Box Restaurant. She was also an employee for the Holiday Inn Hotel in Springfield, TN. She worked many years as an inspector for Holley Carburetor until the company closed its Springfield operation. She was then employed by Matinrea Fabco and later worked for Robertson County before retirement.

Lovie loved traveling, reading, cooking, spending time with her family and singing. She was a member of The Ambassadors for Christ, a local gospel group.

Although Lovie never birthed a child, she was a mother to 39 nieces and nephews, 71 great nieces and nephews and a host of great-great nieces and nephews. She was highly respected by many as a mother and gave counsel to many in the community.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her brothers Grady (Cerniel) Johnson of Detroit, MI, William (Linda Kay) Johnson of Murfreesboro, TN, Delmus (JaTanya) Johnson of Springfield, TN; sisters Bessie Leavell of Springfield, TN, Myrna Wilcox of Murfreesboro, TN, Katie Majors of Nashville, TN, Ada Denton of Clarksville, TN; devoted niece and caregiver Shirley Stanton; devoted niece Patricia Leavell along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; devoted friends Sandra Sherrod, Carolyn Sherrod, Janice Thomas, Francis Hubbard, Vera Taylor, Kathy Carter, Phyllis Boyd.
