Lois (Franklin) Ballard

Lois Ballard, age 84 of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Duff officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Joshua Brown, Andrew Brown, Isaac Brown, Justin Keyt, Kaleb Stratton, and Tyler Jacobs serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Lois was born September 20, 1937 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Blake and Nina Marie Spencer Franklin. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was a retired teacher with the Robertson County Board of Education. She loved the Lord, reading her Bible, and was a prayer warrior. Because of her faith, she looked forward to the day she could go and be with her husband, daughter, sister, and other family members that had gone on before her. She loved her family dearly and was an excellent listener to anyone who needed to talk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob C. Ballard; a daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Gainous; and her sister, Miriam McNeil.

Mrs. Ballard is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Gary Keyt of Cedar Hill, Rebecca and Bob Brown of Springfield, and Damaris and Kenny Stratton of Springfield. Grandchildren, Jeremiah Brown, Joshua Brown, Heather Keyt, Justin Keyt, Kara Jacobs, and Kaleb Stratton; 15 great-grandchildren; and caregiver, Laurie Long.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Salvation Army. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
