Jerry Wayne Sircy, age 71, of Springfield passed away at his home on January 24, 2022.

Mr. Sircy was born July 17, 1950 in Schochoh, Ky to the late Arlis “Buck” and Hazel Helen Mcguire Sircy.

He was a retired carpenter and contractor and proudly served in the U.S. Army, receiving a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching boxing, Nascar, and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. He also enjoyed camping, spending time with his family, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Sircy was a member of the Adairville Methodist Church, the American Legion #45, the DAV Springfield Chapter #21, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sircy is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard Sircy and James Sircy, his sisters, Ann Sircy, Anna Gunderson, and Barbara Jean Burchett.

Mr. Sircy is survived by his wife of 37 years, Joy Pinson Lassiter Sircy; sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Kristie Lassiter of Springfield, Tim and Laurie Lassiter of Cross Plains, and Ryan Weston Sircy; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Michael Morton of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Taylor, Millie, Sydney, and Ava Lassiter, and Logan (Autumn) Dean; great-grandchild, Tenley Dean; brother, and sisters-in-law, David and Shirley Sircy of Springfield and Faye Sircy Bagwell of Springfield; sisters and brothers-in-law, Becky and Fred Middleton of Springfield, Linda and Johnny Cauley of Greenbrier, Doris Dunlap of Adairville, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2 pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Chaplain Ron Hartley officiating. The family requests all visitors wear masks.
Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brad Cauley, Johnny Cauley, Michael Morton, Tracy Gunderson, Garrett Gunderson, Guy Gunderson, Jason Middleton, and Michael Sircy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Nelson, Fred Middleton, Bo Dunlap, Cliff Gainous, and the members of the DAV Chapter #21.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made the DAV Chapter #21. Any donations may be sent in c/o Austin & Bell.
