Jeanette Rippy Grant, age 83, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Russellville, KY.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3 pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Ryan Thomas, Ronald Boisseau, Chad Eden, Landen Eden, Allen Moncrief, and Nolan Hale serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Huxoll and Khole Ryan Wood.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4-8 pm and again on Saturday from 10 am until the hour of service at 3 pm.
Mrs. Grant was born June 7, 1938 to the late Richard Jerry and Foncie Mae Lane Rippy. She was a homemaker and member of the New Life General Baptist Church. She was a great mother and grandmother who loved her family very much.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grant is preceded in death by her husband, Buney Hawkins Grant, her son, Richard Lynn Grant, her grandson, Daniel Ryan Whitaker, and 15 of her siblings.
Mrs. Grant is survived by her son, Odell (Agel) Grant of Springfield; daughters, Marcia (Jimmy) Jackson of Cedar Hill and Wanda (Daniel) Robertson of Russellville; sister, Regina Bush of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
