Jeanette Birdwell Clark, 93, of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday October 29, 2025, at Skyline Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday November 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakland Cemetery with Tony Cobb officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Ms. Jeanette was born August 7, 1932, in Robertson County, to the late Thomas and Maggie Julia Norris Birdwell. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she was a member of the June Burr-Miriam Bibb Sunday School class. Ms. Jeanette was a retired secretary from Genesco. Following retirement, she worked at Goody’s in Springfield until the store closing. She loved gardening, feeding all the stray cats that gathered at her home, and her greatest love was taking care of her husband of 62 years, George.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Nancy Pepper and by her brother: Charles Birdwell. Ms. Jeanette is survived by her husband: George E. Clark of Springfield, by special nephew: Johnathon Hagey, by her nephews: Kelvin Emery, Johnny Pepper, and Chad Birdwell, by her nieces: Kelly Pepper, Julia Little, Nicole Birdwell-Smith, Tiffany Long and Betsy Axley, and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
