Mr. James Tilford Batts, of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, died Monday, February 28, 2022 at his home, he was 86 years old.

Mr. Batts was born on February 27, 1936 in Cheatham County, Tennessee to the late Oscar & Mary Perry Batts. He was an auctioneer for over 40 years. He loved to play music, loved to cook for people, and was one of the original owners of the Blanket Store. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Batts; son-in-law, Ricky Dietsch; grandson, Jason Dietsch; brothers, Bobby Dean, Billy Ray, and Wade Batts; sisters, Levi Mai Berlin and Betty Lou Faught.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Dietsch and Madline Batts; grandchildren, Quenten Vanderford, Mandy Vanderford, Eric Dietsch, and Danny Dietsch; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Vanderford, Isaiah Vanderford, and Tilley Binner; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, March 2nd, with Dr. David Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Stewart Family Cemetery in Ashland City with Eric Dietsch, Danny Dietsch, Robert Harris, Quenten Vanderford, Isaiah Vanderford, and Gary Adams serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 1st from 4-8 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM.
