James R. Buntin, age 74 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 3:00 Pm in the Cross Plains Cemetery with Rev. Rick Robinson officiating. Burial will follow with David Buntin, Tyler Buntin, Colby Buntin, Robert Kessler, Harold Pearson, and Brian Carr serving as pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
James was born April 29, 1947 in Portland, TN to the late Gilford and Essie Parker Buntin.
He was a member of Milldale Presbyterian Church, was a veteran of the National Guard, and was a farmer. He had also worked in construction in the past with his brother. He loved his family and loved farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Buntin, and two sisters, Betty McMurtry and Barbara Walls.
Mr. Buntin is survived by his wife, Linda Buntin of Cross Plains; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy Buntin of Cross Plains; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Robert Kessler of Youngstown, FL; sisters and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bill Jones of Mt. Juliet and Margie Brown of Springfield; grandchildren, Brittany, Jake, and Kala Kessler and Tyler and Colby Buntin; and great-grandchild, Cove Buntin.
Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
