Evelyn Loucretia “Crecy” Head Minnis, 83, of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Monday, November 11, 2024, at her home.

Crecy was born April 18, 1941, in Cedar Hill, to the late Miles Robert and Eula Mae White Head.

She was a graduate of Jo Byrns High School Class of 1959. Crecy retired from Acme Boot Company and started Crecy’s Hair Place in 1978 and operated her business until November of 2023. Crecy was a lifelong member of Heads Freewill Baptist Church, where she served as church decorator for many years in the old church building.

She loved her family and friends, and she and her sisters were the founding members and the only members of the Head Four Sisters Club, which often held meetings at McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and many other eating establishments in Springfield. Crecy was all about having a good time at whatever she did and whoever she was with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Wilson B. Minnis.

Crecy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Jamie Minnis of Cedar Hill, by her grandsons: Jason and Jeff Minnis of Cedar Hill, by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Crystal and Bill Champion of Chattanooga, Pamela and Bob Champion of Springfield, and Connie and Wayne Lowe of Cedar Hill, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Jason Wilkerson and Pastor Eric Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Larry Whitworth, Kim Whitworth, Bart Whitworth, Bob Champion, Bill Champion, Wayne Lowe, Timmy Head, Kevin White, and Derrick White serving as pallbearers.
