Charles Clyde Browning Sr., age 90, of Springfield, passed from this life peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Mr. Browning was born January 7, 1933 in Springfield to the late Clyde and Minnie Murphy Browning.
He was a retired U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean War. Mr. Browning also retired from ABF Freight as a truck driver. Charles enjoyed farming, driving tractors and his lawn mower. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren very much.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Browning was preceded in death by a grandson, Ethan Biggs.
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara Nell Dorris Browning; daughters, Lynn Browning, Johnna (Cliff) Presley and Kendall Hawk; sons, Chuck (Dawn) Browning, Blake (Lori) Browning and Boone Browning; granddaughters, Darby Browning and Emma Biggs; grandson, Zach (Maddey) Jackson; and a brother, Mack Browning.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 5 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the funeral home.
