Ann Ruth Wilkerson Wooden, 84, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.

Ann was born May 21, 1937, in Springfield to the late Albert Julius and Edna Mai Lawrence Wilkerson.

She worked many years at Tappen in Springfield as a payroll clerk. Ann also worked in several convenience stores throughout Robertson County. She was of the Methodist faith.

Ann loved working puzzle books, working in her yard with her flowers, and she loved cooking for her family and having a house full of people to eat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: George William Wooden, Sr., by her son: George William Wooden, Jr., by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Ada Mai and Bob Gardner, Evelyn and Jimmy Mabry, by her nephews: Steve Mabry and Mark Minnis, and by her favorite of all, her dog, Hobo.

Ann is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Joy and Michael Ross of Nashville, by her daughter-in-law: Debbie Wooden of Springfield, by her sister and brother-in-law: Judy and Danny Wilson of Sparta, by her grandchildren: Heather (Bartley) Burnette of Springfield, Megan Ross of Nashville, and Phillip Ross of Cookeville, by her great-grandchild: Cade Burnette, and by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Ann’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Raymond Craciun, Dr. Jonathan Kroser, and to their NHC Springfield family for the care and love that each of you provided.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted Saturday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside service on Saturday.
