Adelle Jenkins, age 91, of Adams, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by the ones she loved so much.
Mrs. Jenkins was born June 17, 1933 in Spring Hill, TN to the late Elmer Richie Church and the late Beulah Mae Stinson Church.
She was a long time member of the Adams Church of Christ and a current member of Main Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jenkins; son, Philip Jenkins; grandson, Gilbert Jenkins; 2 brothers, G.A. Church, and Leon Church; and 2 sisters, Cleo Edwards, and Christine Hunter.
She is survived by her son, Don (Gail) Jenkins; 5 grandchildren, Tina (Glenn) Tuttle, Charlotte (Eddie) Osborne, Keri Beth (Daniel) Rushing, Rachel (Michael) Gray, and Jeana (Troy) Turner; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mai McCrory; and a close family friend, “Uncle” David Rose.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12pm Friday, November 22nd in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Joe Rushing and Brother Barry Throneberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery with Daniel Rushing, Michael Gray, Troy Turner, Glenn Tuttle, Eddie Osborne, and David Rose serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Ms. Adelle’s great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until time of the service at 12 pm Friday at the funeral home.
