Dr. Bob Pruitt, Robertson County Schools Supervisor of Secondary Education, was endorsed for school superintendency by the Tennessee School Boards Association in December, after completing 98 hours of intensive instruction.  The Superintendents Academy, administrated by the TSBA, provides training and orientation for educators seeking to add to their portfolio of leadership credentials.

Pruitt, along with 14 other Tennessee education administrators, received training in more than 11 areas of responsibilities that all district superintendents must deal with.  The subjects ranged from communication, both internal and external, to legal, health and finance.

For his part, Pruitt said the experience was valuable to his current and future responsibilities.

“It was my great pleasure to be involved in this high-quality professional development from TSBA,” he said.  “The coursework covered the full depth and breadth of the curricular, cognitive, and operational demands of the superintendency. The cohort contained school leaders from all over the state, from Memphis to Johnson City, and it was a joy to hear their stories and learn from their experiences. I enthusiastically look forward to applying this new knowledge to my current role here in Robertson County, and I know the information will find further and deeper application as I move through the end of my career.”
