Springfield Water and Wastewater Department has begun work on crossing 5th Avenue (Highway 49 West) for the Sewer Rehabilitation Project. The project began on April 14.
This project will result in nightly lane closures of 5th Avenue between the hours of 9:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. with a potential for noisy construction at times.
The work is expected to be completed in 1-2 weeks, weather dependent. The affected area includes the section of 5th Avenue between Connell Street and 7th Avenue West. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, with flagger control.
