Nashville Sounds: Loss 6-1
As quickly as the Sounds went on a winning streak, they are now on a losing streak. They have lost 4 straight games after falling to the Indians last night 6-1. Zack Godley was credited with the loss, but also struck out 9 in the outing (a season-high for him). The Indians led the whole way. They scored in the second inning and never looked back. The only Nashville run came in the sixth inning when Jamie Westbrook brought home a run with 2 outs in the inning. The Sounds are looking to turn things around and get back on the winning side of things.
Atlanta Braves: Win 9-5
Atlanta took an early lead, but the Phillies rallied back to tie it late in the eighth inning. The Braves’ offense sparked one last time in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead and eventually win the game. The Braves were led on offense by William Contreras as he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBIs.
Cincinnati Reds: Loss 5-1
The Reds scored the first run of the game in the second inning but were held scoreless after that. Akiyama singled and drove in the only Reds’ run. Hendrix was called in relief in the 5th inning and gave up the go-ahead run. He would be tallied with the loss.
Tennessee Titans:
After trading for Julio Jones earlier in the week, the Titans made some in-house adjustments to make the cap space work. Yesterday, it was announced that Titans’ GM Jon Robinson reached out to Quarterback Ryan Tannehill to restructure his contract. Robinson converted some of his base salary to a bonus and spread out the hit over the next couple of seasons, but in the short run he cleared up just over $16 million dollars to help pay for Julio’s $15 base salary hit this season. There could be more moves to come in the future so stay tuned.
