Mr. William Randall Burgess of Springfield, Tennessee passed away at his home on Friday, March 11, 2022, he was 64 years old.

He was born on November 11, 1957, to the late William Virgil and Agnes Burgess in Princeton, Kentucky.

Randy worked for many years at Electrolux as a Supervisor and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Springfield. He married the love of his life on June 18, 1988, and they were blessed with two children. He earned the name Pop in 2019 when his grandson Elijah was born.

Randy loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a master griller and wonderful cook. Randy enjoyed spending time on his boat and fishing at Old Hickory. They traveled together to places like the Bahamas, Branson, Missouri, and other fun beach trips.

Being born on Veterans Day, Randy was a very patriotic person and was a proud supporter of the NRA. He collected guns and knives but his favorite past time was watching University Kentucky Basketball and playing with Elijah.

Randy’s friendly personality and sense of humor will live on in the ones he loved and whenever someone asks, “How are you?” they will carry on his famous answer “ If I was any better I’d be twins”

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lori Burgess; children, Ashton Burgess, and Chae Burgess; bonus daughter, Joy Ray; grandson, Elijah Ray; brother Billy (Diana) Burgess; Roxie his Pomeranian; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home with Brother Steve Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Chae Burgess, Billy Burgess, Matt Bibb, Tony Cobb, Ralph Lunn, and Shawn White serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8 pm then again on Wednesday from noon until the time of service.
