Thomas Howard Elmore, age 76, of Greenbrier, passed away on March 29, 2024, at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville.

Mr. Elmore was born on March 12, 1948, in Springfield to the late Willie C. and Iva Bell Grubbs Elmore.

He was a graduate of Greenbrier High School class of ’67 and of the United Methodist faith. Mr. Elmore worked as an automotive body paint and repair man. He enjoyed working with his hands using tools to fix trucks and anything that was broken.

In the fall, you could find Mr. Elmore cheering on the Greenbrier Bobcats football team as well as the Tennessee Vols. The only thing he enjoyed more than football was spending time with his family. He especially loved spoiling the ones that called him, Big, his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Elmore is preceded in death by the love of his life; Judy William Farmer Elmore, and by his siblings; Ann Choate and Jimmy Ray Elmore.

Mr. Elmore is survived by his sons; John T. (Becky) Elmore, and James W. “Pooh” (Shawn) Elmore both of Greenbrier, by his daughter; Leigh (Mark) Adcock of Greenbrier, by his sister; Barbara (Eddie) Reed of Greenbrier, by his grandchildren; Olivia (Kyle) Tate of Springfield, Jacob Elmore, Belle Elmore, Janie Adcock, and Mimi Elmore all of Greenbrier, by his great-granddaughter; Leny Tate of Springfield, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

His wishes are to be cremated and for his family to have a private burial at a later date.
