OBITUARY: Shirley (Shepard) Hester

Shirley Jo Shepard Hester, 82, of the Owens Chapel community in Springfield, passed from this life on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, December 2nd at 12 noon in the Owens Chapel Cemetery with Brother Bob Filson officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Hester, Blake Hester, Kyle Hester, Jay Hester, Dusty Davis, and Timo Johnson. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Thursday prior to the graveside service.

Mrs. Hester was born on February 12, 1939, in the Stroudsville community. She was a retired seamstress with Acme Boot Company and was a member of Owens Chapel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hester enjoyed fishing, crocheting, reading, and working puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her father: Samuel Franklin Shepard, by her husband: Willard Delvin Hester, Sr., by her brothers: Frank and Donald Ray Shepard, and by her sister: Faye Johnson.

Mrs. Hester is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Willard Delvin and Susan Hester, Jr., of Springfield, by her mother: Ruby Watts Shepard of Adams, by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Christine Shepard of Adams, Tippy and Linda Shepard of Stroudsville, by her sister and brother-in-law: Dimple and Mike Warren of White House, by her grandchildren: Jason (Tiffany) Hester, Blake (Jessica) Hester, Kyle (Jessica Choate) Hester, and by her 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
