Russell “Russ” Owen Burchett, age 92 of Springfield, TN, passed from this life on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Russ was born January 21, 1931 in Adairville, KY to the late Artis and Cleoh Jaynes Burchett.
He was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ and was a retired realtor, auctioneer, and farmer. He spent his spare time golfing, fishing, and watching University of Kentucky basketball. He enjoyed music and dancing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrie Weinstein, and his sister, Geraldine Campbell.
Surviving him are his wife, Rita Wells Burchett of Springfield, TN; sons and daughter-in-law, Russell O. “Rusty” and Deborah Burchett, Jr. of Adairville, KY and John Martin of Peachtree City, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Edward Hernandez of Dallas, TX; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Church of Christ with Bro. Marvin Crouch officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions be made to either Alive Hospice or Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
