Ronald Ray Wood, age 88 of White House, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Hendersonville Medical Center.
He was born August 21, 1933 in Hurricane, Utah to William E. & Elsie Stout Wood.
He worked in electronics manufacturing for Square D. He was retired from the U.S. Army, where he served in special forces as a green beret. He proudly served his country in Korea and in Vietnam. His highly decorated uniform is proudly displayed at the White House History Museum.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Lynette Wood, and Rhonda Edwell; 5 brothers; 2 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Wood, White House, TN; daughters, Jeri Kimm (Fred) Houston, FL, Sue Willey, WA, Aileen Rae, Nashville, TN, and Kathleen Dean, White House, TN; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11 am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House. Interment will follow at 2 pm in Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is planned for Monday, May 16, 2022 4-8 pm, and Tuesday, May 17, 2022 9-11 am at the funeral home.
