Ronald Lee Simmons, age 70, of Springfield, Tennessee died Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Simmons Family Cemetery in Springfield. Adam Blach, Brandon Simmons, Nolan Simmons, Brian Eatherly, Ryan Simmons, and David Simmons will serve as pallbearers. Jerry Simmons, Pat Bailey, Jax Simmons, and James Richards will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-8 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until the hour of service at 3 pm.
Mr. Simmons was born November 30, 1950, in Robertson County, Tennessee to the late Lee Guthrie Simmons and Lillian Barbara Keith Simmons. Ronald loved drag racing. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and retired from Delight Products in Springfield where he worked for 43 years and was known to be able to perform most all the tasks that could be done there.
Ronald is survived by his sons, Timothy Ray Simmons of Springfield and Robert Lee (Sara) Simmons of Greenville, Kentucky; brother, Stanley (Charlotte) Simmons of Orlinda; sister Barbara Simmons of Portland, Tennessee, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
If so desired, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations may be sent care of the Robertson County Funeral Home.
