Richard Lee Thornhill, age 52 of Orlinda passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at his home.
He was born December 1, 1971 in Battletown, KY to James Dewey & Arbutus Vierra Thornhill.
He worked as a truckdriver for Roark Trucking until becoming disabled. Trucking was more than a job to him but his entire world. In his earlier years he served as a volunteer fireman and first responder in Meade County, KY. He loved his farm, raising cattle, vegetable gardening and watching old westerns.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Dewey Thornhill; brother, John Thornhill; best friend, Paul Roark.
He is survived by his daughters, Brittany (Matthew) Holcomb, Orlinda, TN and Shawna Thornhill, Red Boiling Springs, TN; mother, Ann (Bob) Gadd, Corpus Christi, TX; brother, Mike Thornhill, Houston, TX; 2 grandchildren, Temperance Holcomb and Violet Holcomb, both of Orlinda, TN; nephews, Kody Thornhill, Orlinda, TN and James Ray Thornhill, Houston, TX; best friend, David Neeley, Orlinda, TN; his loyal canine, Princess.
There is a memorial service being planned for Mr. Thornhill. This obituary will be updated when those arrangements are finalized.
