Raymond “Ray” Mesavage, age 70 of Springfield, Tennessee passed away at his home on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

He was born on March 2, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Frank and Eleanor Mesavage.

Mr. Raymond worked for many years as a Welding Engineer. He retired from Martinrea in 2017 after a combined 12 years at the Hopkinsville and Springfield locations.

Mr. Raymond’s number one love was his wife, Gay, his honey which he took great care to provide for her. He loved to play golf when he was able to. Mr. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Michigan Football and taking care of his lawn which, some say was his pride and joy.

He enjoyed listening to Elvis and playing the drums on the steering wheel of his car and air guitar. Mr. Raymond took pride in his spectacular 4th of July Firework show he put on every year for the grandchildren; it was said that it was magnificent and one of a kind.

Christmas was the other holiday that was always big around the Mesavage household. He always decorated the house to the fullest including an elaborate train set with village. Mr. Raymond loved his family and he showed it every day.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Raymond is preceded in death by his grandson, Evan Vargas; son-in-law, Richard Hay; sister-in-law, Tina Fay.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gay Mesavage; children, Shelly (Jason) Vargas, Sherry Hay, Sheila (Ken) Nowak, Jake (Rachel) Thomas, Cheryl Norris; grandchildren, Eleesha (Andrew) Green, Lauren (Jeremy) Pendarvis, Brittney Vargas, Baylee Mamp, Devin Nowak, Tyler Saunders, Ruthanne Hay, Jesse Hyde, Jake (Katie Mackie) Hyde, Jasmine Norris, Jackson Thomas; great-grandchildren, Jackson Pendarvis, Rhys Green, Jerzey Hyde, Jaylen Hyde, Jayce Crain, Alayna Boling and Noah Boling; brother, Frank Mesavage; sister-in-law, Shirley (Rick Meadows) Duffer.

Celebration of Ray Mesavage life will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 11 am in the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home with Mario Gallione officiating. Entombment will follow at Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jesse Hyde, Jake Hyde, Jackson Thomas, Ken Nowak, Jason Vargas and Devin Nowak serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 15th from 5-8 pm then again on Tuesday from 9 am until the time of service.

The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to Alive Hospice in Nashville or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
