Peggy Lynn Gower, age 74, of Springfield, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Mrs. Gower was born July 17, 1949 in Hamilton County to the late Eugene and Marian Burns Smith.
She worked as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. In her spare time she would play bingo, do puzzles, color, read, cook and watch game shows.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gower is preceded in death by her husband, Roy B Gower, brothers, Johnny and Dennis Smith, and daughter Jennifer Gower.
Mrs. Gower is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Bennett and Melody Gower III of Greenbrier and William Eugene and Cindy Gower of Adams; and daughter and son-in-law, Stacy Lynette and Robert Sneed of Cedar Hill; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1 pm in the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral in Greenbrier with Brother Randy Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens, with William Eugene Gower, Jr., Joseph Irwin, Joshua Gower, Tyler Cato, Seth Gower, Jay Shutt serving as pallbearers and Jeremy Sneed serving as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 pm- 6:00 pm at the funeral home and Wednesday from 11 am till time of Service at 1 pm.
