Pamela Dorris Swearingen, age 70 of Springfield, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Hendersonville Medical Center.

Pam was born March 2, 1952 in Springfield to the late Bruce Cline Dorris and Harriet Corbitt Dorris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Lynn Dorris and a nephew, Stephen Bruce Dorris.

She was a member of Main St. Church of Christ and was the former secretary for Tony Dorris Builders. Faith and family were the most important things to her. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She never met a stranger and her smile would light up a room. She was known to be loving, selfless, generous, kind, compassionate, and always had a positive attitude. She enjoyed old movies, westerns, history, and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.

Surviving her is her husband of 49 years, Joe Thomas “Jody” Swearingen of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Lee and Ashlee Swearingen of Adamsville; daughters, Terri Ann Swearingen of Springfield and Traci Swearingen Justice and husband Jeremy of Greenbrier; Brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Carolyn Dorris of Nicholasville, KY; sister, Denise Dorris of Springfield; grandchildren, Taylor Paige Swearingen and fiancé’ Moses McDonald, Chloee Swearingen, and Cline Swearingen; mother-in-law, Frances Swearingen of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Sharon Thorstensen of Lexington Park, MD, Marilynn Austin and husband Tony of Orlinda, and Cissy Midgett and husband Al of Lebanon; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Rushing and Bro. Barry Throneberry officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Jeremy Justice, Moses McDonald, Philip Dorris, Corbitt Dorris, Brent Dorris, Joey Austin, Bill Swearingen, and Terry Michael Creasey serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 until 5 PM and Monday from 10 AM until the hour of service.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
