Monty F. Stewart, age 74 of Springfield, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center.
Monty was born June 27, 1950 in Dickson to the late James Blake and Wilma Glenn Fussell Stewart.
He was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church and the Robertson County Fair Board Association. He graduated from Austin Peay State University where he was a member of the ATO Fraternity. He was a salesman for many years at Unarco and before that with Nasco. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed working on the farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Terry and Scotty Stewart.
Surviving Mr. Stewart is his wife, Pam Gower Stewart of Springfield; son, Montana Blake Stewart of East Nashville; daughter, Darby Stewart Lopes of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Lennyn Stewart, Londyn Stewart, Britton Lopes, Bristol Lopes, and Willow Lopes; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Debbie Stewart of Charlotte; and sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Mike Hunter of Charlotte.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12:30 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Jones and Pastor Randy Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Scott Swann, Ty Austin, Tommy Hallman, Blake Hollingsworth, D.J. Wilkins, Cody Wilkins, Brandon Thomas, Lee Stewart, Dylan Hunter, and Blake Stewart serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
