Melody R. Moreland, age 61 of Springfield passed away at home with her sons by her side.

Melody was born on November 28, 1959, to the late John E. Reynolds and Betty C. Fiser in Springfield. She was a 1977 graduate of Springfield High school. Melody had a passion for helping others and she worked for Robertson County Funeral Home as a Funeral Director and helped families design a lasting tribute for their loved one at Dean Monuments. It was important to Melody that everyone have a memorial that was just as unique as the life they lived.

After retiring, Melody enjoyed spending her time with her boys and granddaughter Mallory. She loved growing plants in her sunroom and garden. Melody and Bill enjoyed their numerous trips a year going to the beach with their family. If Melody was around the family and friends she loved, she had everything she ever wanted.

In addition to her parents, Melody was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Moreland, and brother, Burnette Reynolds.

She is survived by her loving sons, Chris Dean and Andrew (Erin Bloom) Dean; granddaughter, Mallory Dean; her “Sis” Vickie (Tom) Farmer, the amazing care team of Caris Hospice, and the compassionate caretakers that have become like family over the last few months.

A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11 am in the Rotunda at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery 7931 McCrory Ln Nashville, TN 37221. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 pm at Springfield Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Post 2120 in Greenbrier.
