Mary Ellen Bracey Neal, 82, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Springfield Heights Assisted Living.

Mary Ellen was born August 30, 1941, in Robertson County, to the late Phineas Lurton and Louise Anthony Bracey.

She was a graduate of Coopertown High School Class of 1959, was a retired bookkeeper with the Old Hickory Credit Union, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at North Crest Medical Center and was a member of Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mary Ellen enjoyed cooking, her flowers, listening to and singing gospel music, and traveling. She was always one to put others first and she loved her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Lynn Neal, by her sister: Sue Bracey Pyles, and by her brother: Phillip Bracey.

Mary Ellen is survived by her sons: Tony Neal and wife Kathy of Springfield, Brent Neal and wife Mary Beth of Newbern, by her daughter: Mary Beth Neal Hodge of Louisville, TN, by her grandchildren: Emily (Caleb) Hood, Sonny Neal, Amanda Neal, Kate Neal, Max Hodge, and Jake Hodge, and by her great-grandchildren: Annie and Austin Hood.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 18th at 12 noon in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Taylor Kibler and Reverend Chris Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Tim Harris officiating. Pallbearers will be Sonny Neal, Max Hodge, Jake Hodge, Caleb Hood, Brett Pyles, and Bob Adcox. Honorary pallbearers will the Seeker’s Sunday Class at Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. https://www.robertsoncountyfuneralhome.com
