Lewis Dean Wallace Sr.

Lewis Dean “Mr. Dean” Wallace, Sr., 83, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Ryan Caruthers, Justin Head, Eric Caruthers, K.C. Demers, Buddy Wallace, and Kolby Demers serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Wallace was born June 13, 1938, in Dover, TN to the late Basil and Evelyn Lewis Wallace.

He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Shadowens, in February of 1957 and this year would be their 65th wedding anniversary. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Springfield for many years.

Mr. Wallace, along with his wife, owned and operated Dean Food Land, Dean Country Meat’s, and many other businesses in Nashville for 35 years. Working was his hobby, and he always enjoyed the grocery business and being with his employees and customers. Mr. Wallace owned the Lazy D Ranch in Cedar Hill. Not only did he enjoy farming the land, he and Ms. Margaret raised their family on their ranch and have lived there for over 50 years. Family was his world, and he always enjoyed any opportunity for a family gathering with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and anyone that wanted to join in with them. The highlight of any given day for Mr. Wallace, was sitting in his sunroom and looking at all of God’s creation that he enjoyed so much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Janet Lynn Wallace, and by his sister: Sue Moore.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his wife: Margaret Shadowens Wallace of Cedar Hill, by his children: Lewis Dean (Nikki) Wallace, Jr., of Greenbrier, Gayle (Buddy) Bourne, Denise (Dale) Murphy, and Karen (David) Bolton all of Cedar Hill, by his sisters: Shirley Felts of Joelton, Linda (Eddie) Voekel of Franklin, Joan Wallace of Smyrna, and Muriel (David) Camp of Murray, KY, and by his grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Caruthers, Jennifer (Wes) Dubowsky, Kristen (Brian) Winfree, Justin (Lindsey) Head, Eric Caruthers, Krystal Wallace, Kevin (KC) Demers, Buddy Wallace, Kamber (Jake) Lamonaco, Kolby Demers, Koti (David) Nordy, Cheyenne (Drew) Pool, Alek and Avianna Bourne, and by his 14 great-grandchildren.
