Leonard Boyd “Len” Holman, Jr., age 80, of Springfield, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 at NHC Springfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Friday, June 6th in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Curtis Honts and Bro. David Evans officiating.
Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Dean McCrary, Jason Spain, Jacob Spain, Dillian Spain, Justin McCrary, and Wyatt McCrary serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Thursday, and again from 9-11am Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Holman was born June 7, 1944 in Jacksonville, AL to the late Leonard Boyd Holman, Sr., and the late Mary Elizabeth Ward Holman. He was an Electronic Technician with Bellsouth/AT&T most of his life.
Mr. Holman was the co-owner of a drag racing team and racing enthusiast, an Atlanta Braves baseball fan, a fan of all UT Vols sports, and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holman was preceded in death by an infant brother; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Lee and Alan Pinson.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Peggy Holman; daughters, Cara (Dean) McCrary, and Manda (Jason) Spain; 4 grandchildren, Jacob Spain, Dillian Spain, Justin McCrary, and Wyatt McCrary; brothers, Jerry (Sherry) Holman, and Kevin (Jennifer) Holman; and sisters, Janice Lee, and Barbara (Jerry) Worsham.
