Larry Brandon Bonds

Larry Brandon Bonds, age 73 of Orlinda, TN, and formerly of Greensboro, AL, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

He was born on November 26, 1948, to the late Hillard and Mabel Bonds in Selma, AL.

He worked for many years at the Harvest Select Catfish Plant in Uniontown, Alabama. He was a devoted member of the Greensboro Baptist Church and recently Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cross Plains, TN. He loved Jesus and going to church. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and his animals. He had a soft spot when it came to all animals like his goats, chickens, and pigeons, but his rat terriers Annie, Patty, Ann, and Odie, he loved dearly. Larry spent a lot of his spare time out in the yard raising different flowers, plants, and vegetables. Larry loved Auburn University and Auburn Athletics, especially Auburn Tiger Football. Larry’s kind nature and love of his family and friends will be remembered forever.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Bonds.

He is survived by his children, Michele (Hudson) Slaughter, Daphne Bonds, and Brantley (Allison) Bonds; grandchildren, Jared (Gina) Cason, Colton Cason, Andrew Higson, Sarah Higson, Coleman Bonds, and Caroline Bonds; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Ophelia Cason; siblings, Sandra (Elam) Holley, Shaun (Judy) Bonds and Harriett (George) Teel.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 10:30 am at the Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro, Alabama, with Rev. Dee McGuire conducting and Rev. Brantley Bonds sharing. The pallbearers are Shaun Bonds, Coleman Bonds, Parrish Holley, Brandon Holley, Bradley Bonds, Graham Bonds, Lennon Bonds, and Bobby Massengale. The honorary pallbearers are Kenny Averette, Mike Bonds, Harris Coleman, Greg Crawford, Chester Faddis, Robert Goff, Mike McManus, Mickey Milner, Alvin Mitchell, Mark Rose, Scott Williams, and the Greensboro High School Class of 1968.
