Joyce-Faye-Choate

Joyce Faye Choate passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, she was 80 years old.

She was the second of three daughters born to the late James Vanious Neal and Marjorie Rhea Besheare of DeKalb County, TN on August 13, 1942, in Old Hickory, TN.

In 1960, she graduated from Howard High School in Nashville, TN. While there, she was a cheerleader and worked at Life & Casualty. In December of that year, she married John Wayne Choate of Springfield, TN. Through the years, she loved cooking, bowling, water skiing, camping, car races, friends, and sunshine.

Joyce’s life-long experience in accounting and office management was particularly special the last 10 years of her career. She was so proud to work with her daughter and son-in-law at Orchard Park Animal Hospital. And she always thought she was the luckiest mother in the world to live with her other daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter after the passing of her husband. For Joyce, she would always say, “I love my family more than the air I breathe”.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Choate, in-laws Winford and Geneva Choate; sister, Mildred Neal Williams (John), and brothers-in-law, Robert Dean and Phillip Stacey.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Patton (Terry) and Dana Horner (Ted), “the grandest of all” granddaughters Kayla Anne Campbell (Mark) and Sydney Wayne Horner; sister, Judy Dean; sister-in-law, Jennifer Stacey and many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 18th 11 am – 1 pm at Springfield Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held in the Chapel Mausoleum at Springfield Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm with Terry Patton, Ted Horner, Mark Campbell, Paul Horner, Dylan Price serving as pallbearers.

The family requests in lieu of flowers to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association-https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/.
