Jonathan Daniel Rawls of Springfield, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, he was 31 years old.
Jonathan was born November 4, 1990 in Springfield at the former Jesse Holman Jones Hospital. He was the son of James Rawls and Debbie Gainous Handy.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Emmett Gainous, and his paternal grandfather, Virgil Rawls.
A lifelong Springfield resident, he graduated from Springfield High School and had been employed by Martinrea Fabco. Jonathan loved music and was a talented musician. He loved to play guitar and enjoyed several genres of music but especially hard rock, blues, and metal. He also loved going to the mall, antique, music, and record stores as well as working on cars. Jonathan loved football and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Above all, he loved his family and any occasion that brought them together. He was a devoted father to his son, Jamil.
He is survived by his mother and step-dad, Debbie and Jason Handy; his sister, Megan McMurry (Thurman); brother, Dakota Evans; son, Jamil Trajo; his maternal grandmother, Jennie Gainous, and his paternal grandmother, Nell Rawls; 7 nieces and nephews, Devin Woodard, Anna Woodard, Abrianna Woodard, Jeffrey Gunn, Zayleeanna McMurry, Haven McMurry, and Anderson McMurry; extended family and many friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, April 26th at 2 PM at Springfield Funeral Home, 4005 Memorial Blvd., Springfield, TN followed by interment at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Monday, April 25th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. https://www.springfieldfh.com
