Johnny M. Baldwin, 86, of Springfield peacefully passed away on June 17, 2024, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
Mr. Baldwin was born on November 8, 1937, to the late Marvin D. and Johnnie Pruitt Baldwin in Durant, Oklahoma.
He faithfully served his country as a proud member of the U.S. Navy. He retired as a self-employed ceramic tile layer and was of the Christian faith. In his free time, Johnny enjoyed beekeeping and raising crops. He appreciated the challenge of trying to grow various vegetables and flowers on his farm. Once he moved into town, he still enjoyed helping his kids grow and sell the flowers and produce they raised.
Mr. Baldwin is preceded in death by his parents, and by his sisters, LaVerne and Marlene.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Baldwin of Springfield, TN, by his daughters; Debra Grant of Springfield, TN, Laura (Curtis) Lee of Macon, GA, Wyvonne Garnica of Gainesboro, TN, Sarah (Jason) Bassett of Naples, FL, and Rebecca (Wes) Steele of Springfield, TN, by his son; Johnny D. Baldwin of Gainesboro, TN, by his brothers; Ron Baldwin of AZ, and Charlie (Velda) Keen of TX, and by twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
