John Patrick “JP” Traughber, II age 36 of Barren Plains, passed away on August 15, 2022, at his home.
He was born on September 24, 1985, to Tony Traughber and Connie Rainwater Traughber in Nashville.
JP is a 2003 Graduate of Springfield High School. He worked for many years as a chef. JPs culinary skills didn’t stop at work- he made a wonderful lasagna and his special cheesecake that everyone loved.
When he was home, JP loved spending time with Cole and the rest of his family. He planted all of his mama’s red roses. You could find JP most weekends fishing at the pond at the ole home place or watching some of his favorite movies like Harry and the Hendersons and the Wizard of Oz.
JP is survived by his son, Cole Traughber; parents, Tony (Robyn Howell) Traughber and Connie Traughber; siblings, Lucas Traughber and Tiffany (John) Hallman; niece and nephew, Caroline and William Hallman and grandmother, Ruth Meservey.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 3 pm with Brother Eric Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at a later date at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Cedar Hill.
