Jimmy Gilley passed away peacefully after a faith filled journey fighting cancer.
Jimmy was born in Nashville TN March 23,1966 to James and Frances Gilley. His family loved to hear stories he would tell of growing up in Nashville and later Madison and other nearby cities.
Jimmy was a devoted and loving husband to his middle school sweetheart Gina Gilley. They married early in life Jimmy being 18 and Gina being 16. June 15, 2026, marked 42 years of an amazing marriage and a total of 44 years leading to an everlasting love.
His devotion to his wife, children, and family built a legacy that will be the foundation for generations to come. He has two amazing children Jimmy Gilley III 41 (His daughter in love Michelle 40) and Jennifer Locke 38. The children have worked alongside their father at Gilley Drywall, the business Jimmy senior started in the early 90’s. The business was built and still operates on one of Jimmy senior’s heart held convictions, “A man is as good as his word”. The children will continue to honor their daddy’s vision for the business and serve clients with integrity and commitment to excellence.
Jimmy grew up loving classic cars. He started going to car shows in his 20’s and later was able fulfill his dream of owning a 1969 Camaro. That would be the beginning of a small collection of classic cars and trucks that he took great pleasure in. He met many close friends at car shows he attended and always looked forward to seeing them the following year. He also enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles. He and his wife loved riding together and one of their greatest adventures was riding through several national parks in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. He was a part of the Ridge Riders motorcycle group of Northridge Church White House, TN.
Most important to Jimmy was his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He has seven grandchildren who call him Pop Pop are Logan Neufeld 24, Kaylee Gilley 20, Madyson Holder 19, Miley Gilley 18, Kelsie Holder 16, Kylie Locke 10, and Bentley Reeves 10. He was their number one fan at most of their sports activities. He was always present and fully invested in all the milestones of their lives.
He had a vision of a home where they could all be together and make memories. His vision is being fulfilled and the family will all live on the acreage he worked so hard to leave them.
He was a loving son to his father James Gilley and to his mother Frances Gilley. He was an encouraging source of strength and love to his sister, Michelle Reeves and his brother Greg Gilley. His extended family was deeply loved by Jimmy and could depend on him to be there anytime they needed him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Gilley and cousins Robert Finch and Tracey Gilley.
Jimmy never met a stranger. He was the kindest man to all he encountered. Jimmy let his “Soul Shine” and he touched the lives of so many people. He had a way of building others up and making them aware of their importance.
Jimmy may not be with us here on this earth, but the impact he has made will ripple throughout the lives of all those he touched for eternity.
His celebration service will be held Monday October 5th at Northridge Church in White House Tn. Visitation will be from 10:00-2:00 with services starting at 2:00.
