Jimmie Johnson, age 79 of White House passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Skyline Medical Center.
He was born August 9, 1942 in Goodlettsville, TN to Odie & Janie Reid Johnson.
He worked as a sprinkler fitter for the Sprinkler Fitters Union #669 before his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was the Rock of the family and the one everyone went to for advice. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his lawn, and watching westerns. He always knew how to make people smile and enjoyed being a constant aggravation, picking on the ones he loved and telling jokes.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Johnson; son, Jimmy Neil Johnson; daughter, Janet Johnson DeWeese; great-grandson, Aspen Logan Ragland; sister, Lucy Davenport; brothers, Johnny Duncan, Odie Johnson, Jr. and Frankie Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter, Tia Johnson, White House, TN; sisters, Jean (Billy) Horner, Cottontown, TN and Lillian Brinkley, Mount Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Kirsten Garrett and Megan DeWeese; great-grandchild, Aurora Ragland.
Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, November 29, 2021 at 11 am in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Bro. Gene Hannah officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation is planned for Sunday, November 28, 2021 4-8 pm, and Monday, November 29, 2021 9 am-11 am at the funeral home.
