Jane Ardith Payne, age 85 of Greenbrier passed away Monday, December 4th, 2022 at St. Thomas West Hospital.
She was born in Orlinda, TN on January 27, 1937 to the late Ogusta G. and Maudie Mae Krisle Payne.
She was a member of Greenbrier First Baptist Church and was employed as a Business Systems Specialist at National Life Insurance Co. and retired in 1999 with 43 years of service.
She loved to travel. Some of her memorable places to visit were Europe, Russia and the Smoky Mountains. She enjoyed reading, attending church and working at the Greenbrier Historical Society.
She is survived by a brother, Ed (Mary) Payne of Greer, SC; nephews, David (Jamie) Payne, Stephen (Angela) Payne; great-nephews, Jack Payne, Sam Payne and great-niece, Carolina Payne.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 8th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Rev. Nathan Washburn officiating. The family will receive friends 10 am until time of service at the funeral home.
